Day 3

Ethan is coming around. He is eating regularly and is eating by demand. Today he had an ultra sound on his head and an EEG. We had a chance to meet with the pediatrician and he said that they are being very thorough being we lost two babies in the past. We will be meeting with a genetics specialist near the end of the week to go over our medical history. Basically they want to over rule every possibility for Ethan. (The pediatrician said "we are fishing for solutions and outcomes) We are very glad that they are doing this due to our history and the weirdness of this situation. They say he will be in at least until the weekend. The great thing is that there is nothing hitting their panic button. Thanks for praying. We really appreciate it..

Day 2

The pediatrician put Ethan on antibiotics last night, just in case there 'was' an infection that was bothering him. They will be getting blood tests back tonight and they sent down a urine test today. He will be undergoing an ultra sound on his head tomorrow. On the plus side he is more alert today and drinking more formula. Holly and I are not worried, God has given us a large amount of peace in this whole journey.

Day 1

We saw the pediatrician today and he was going to check into Ethan's heart. They did find a small hole in his heart which is not concerning them as it will heal over. They are basically going to go up the investigation ladder to find out what is ailing him. The past 24 hours they have been depriving him of bottle/breast feeding, but now they want him to eat as much formula as he wants for the next 24 hours to see how he processes that.

They are also going to be
checking out his metabolic system as well to ensure everything is working there. So we are still in the waiting game to see what the issue is.

There is no set time as to how long he will be in, but they did say that they would not let him go until they know what is wrong.

Pray for Ethan

I am not one for personal info on blogs, but I am also not very good at calling people. Plus I know that this post will reach the eyes that I want it to.

***Today the healthy home nurse weighed Ethan and he was 7lbs 13 oz. He has lost 1.2 lbs in 10 days. They were quite concerned so they called our doctor who suggested we take him to pediatric ER to have him assessed.

The pediatrician that saw him had some significant concerns so he called down an NICU resident who also had concerns. Ethan has been admitted to the NICU isolation room. (due to the fact that he has been home and would pose as a threat to the newborns that have not left the hospital.)

The resident is calling him a conundrum as there is no specific signs of anything wrong. With that said he is showing enough signs of concern that they do not feel comfortable with him going home.

Please circulate this around for prayer.

Please pray for healing for Ethan and wisdom for the medical staff to find out what is wrong with my son.

Baby....

I thought I would post an update on baby and mommy. LOL only a homeschooling mom would do corrections sitting in labor and delivery. (not while in labor) Holly got induced this morning but the baby is not sitting in the birth canal. When the doctor checked the baby was still floating in space. So we were sent home to wait until things start happening. That is where we are at right now. (7:30 PM)
