Should we stay or should we go?

Since Ethan was born we have been contemplating moving. This is a tough decision to make as we like our community and the price of our mortgage is affordable. With that said we have some things in our house that need a face lift or addition. They are:

- Only one washroom for 8 people
- A kitchen that doesn't function well
- No shower
- No place for our kids to get away and play, and no place for them to go when friends are over. Last Christmas I did build an 8' by 6' games room out of a nook and cranny in the basement for them to play in, which they love.
- Our basement is 6.5 feet high, so I am constantly banging my head on vents, chimney etc.
- The bedrooms in the basement are very small. They are good while the kids are young but when they are teenagers thier rooms will be cramped.
- No storage space to speak of.

Dont read this as a complaint, This is simply an inventory of what things we may look for in another house. I am interested in buying a fixer upper at an affordable rate and fixing it up. I would also like to continue living in the inner city, one because I enjoy that area, two because the homes are affordable.

At this point we are not sure what to do. There is not a lot out there that we can currently afford. The money that we would have to invest into our current home would equal the mortagage on a newer home. With all that said we have always relied on Jehovah Jirah to provide a home for us, and I would hope that we will continue that trend.

Ethan is home

I am very happy to say that Ethan is now home. We picked him up at 4 yesterday. There will be some follow up appointments for him but they felt he was good to go home. Thank you all for praying, we appreciated it.

Day 6

As of last night Ethan weighed 8 lbs 4 oz which is a big difference from a week ago. Holly is going to be a part of rounds today to see the pediatrician to see if we can bring our little man home today.

Update:
Ethan is not coming home today. The pediatrician wants Ethan on his antibiotics for 7 complete days which would be tomorrow at 4. Still no reason why he was losing weight and lethargic, which is both puzzling and concerning at the same time.

Day 5

Ethan is doing better. He is on the road to recovery...Thank you Jesus... Still no answer as to what got to him. Genetics had no concerns and we are still waiting to get tests back from metabolic's. We are hoping that he will return home this weekend.

Day 4

First things first....Ethan and I brought in New years together last night.

Ethan was supposed to be discharged from isolation to the regular peds ward today, but he has been having periodic breathing at random (in short...taking long breaks in between breaths) plus today they noticed that he sounds congested, so they thought that it would be wise to keep him isolated. Also due to the fact that he has been breathing weird they decided to keep him on a high dose of antibiotics.

We are waiting for metabolic tests to return now.

He is eating better and gaining on average 1 oz a day.

Holly and I would really like to have an answer for what is bugging him so please pray along those lines....that Ethan would tell us where to look.

Also please pray for strength for Holly tomorrow as it is my first day back at work and I will not get to the hospital until after 5:00 and she is taking the overnight feeding shift tonight.
