Giving and borrowing

Matthew 5: 42

"Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one
who wants to borrow from you."

What a profound verse. Do you notice that it doesn't say 'in certain
situations, when you can afford to give, then give what you can afford'
It says give. Give is a direct statement or command. It doesn't matter if
you can afford it or not, the Lord is commanding us to give. Not only that,
but it says to give to him who asks. Notice that it doesn't say that you are
to "give" to the one who asks to borrow from you, but it says to not turn him
away. This tells me that you are to seek the heart of God in situations where
people want to borrow from us, So that we can approach each situation
with wisdom and discernment, so that you may know what your role is in
every situation.

I had a thought about the big space. It's the same length as your side bar stuff. Out of curiousity maybe you should try taking that stuff out and seeing if it makes a difference to the big space...maybe there's some code (like you said) that got stuck in the wrong place...

love you guys

I have this neighbor across the hall, we call her "the old lady". She has been coming over here for miscellaneous items for the last 2 1/2 years. Bread, milk, sugar, mustard, vinegar, lightbulbs....and not just any lightbulb, but a teardrop shapped lightbulb, oh yeah, and it had to be blue. One time she came over and asked for pancake mix, and I was so irritated by this point, that I told her if she had no pancake mix of her own, then she'd have to go without pancake mix. Needless to say she didn't come over for a while. In my frustration, I would cry out, I'm not a grocery store for crying out loud! Well, God has changed my heart. The question isn't, why is she coming over all the time, the question is, since she is, why can't I give what I have. It's a way of showing her the heart of God for her. So if we have it, we give it, that's our new moto. And let me tell you, it has been such a load off! I don't have to worry anymore or be mad at her, or get annoyed when she comes to the door. I feel like God has really given me a heart for giving, but I always felt that I never had anything worth giving. Now that I see God had blessed us in many areas to give, as well as realizing I could give all along... I love it! I just needed God to get my heart in check and remind me of what it's all really about....
Sorry for the super long comment :)
